Hi, I'm Amanda! I’ve been a registered dental hygienist for over 18 years, and during that time, I’ve cared for countless patients and really taken a deep look inside their mouths. The more I observed, the more I began to question why oral health is often treated as separate from the rest of the body.
Over the past five years, I’ve been diving deeply into the oral-systemic connection. I’ve seen firsthand how oral bacteria and mouth health are linked to common systemic conditions such as Alzheimer’s, strokes, respiratory infections, pancreatic cancer, and gut dysbiosis. But it doesn’t stop there—the mouth can tell us so much about overall wellness.

Signs in the mouth can reveal:
These are insights rarely taught in dental school, but with the growth of functional medicine and biological dentistry, these connections are becoming clearer—and more actionable.

Using saliva diagnostics and trace mineral testing, I work with patients to create personalized plans that support their overall health, not just their teeth. Oral health is the gateway to wellness, and by looking beyond the mouth, we can uncover underlying imbalances and empower lasting change.

My goal is to meet people where they are. I want to help those who have been “doing all the right things” with their oral health—brushing, flossing, and seeing the dentist regularly—but still face challenges like cavities, gum disease, or persistent bad breath. These are not minor issues; they are important clues about what may be happening systemically.
